Our Day 3 Activity of Contextual Learning was an adventurous one - a trek to the famous Nandi Hills located in the outskirts of Bangalore . We embarked on our journey at around 9:00 a.m to the top of Brahmagiri Hill. All of us were pumped and full of energy to reach the top.
We made our way past lots of plants, trees, thorny bushes and rocks. The trek was tiring and strenuous, but despite that we kept moving forward. Occasionally we stopped for a water and rest break but we kept going. There were times that we were really tired and wanted to give up but all of us encouraged each other to keep going. Along the way we saw beautiful rock formations and even a temple near the summit.
When I felt ready to give up, I still tried to maintain a positive attitude to give me hope and strength. Thinking that you will be able to do something makes it seem more likely that you will be able to accomplish your task.
When we reached the summit we were all exhausted but very proud of ourselves. Our hard work paid off when we saw the breathtaking view from the top. There were lush green valleys and rock formations.
The essential question for the day was " What can I learn about myself by going on a
hike ? ". I think you can learn about your strengths and weaknesses by going on a hike. You can reflect on what you found easy and difficult and how you felt about going on a hike wether it was exciting and boring.
I thoroughly enjoyed this trek and hope to do it again.
